The Big Lottery Fund's mission is to help those at disadvantage in society and improve the quality of life in the community. They believe this research addresses this mission.

NSF (Scotland) is supporting this study because they are only too well aware that many carers feel that the support and information made available to them is often inadequate or non-existent. They are keen to support an initiative that will train nurses in the needs of carers.
